Facial Analysis

Facial Analysis is a procedure performed during the planning phase before surgery to obtain the appearance that will suit the person the most and harmonize the most with his/her face.

Nose; It is the organ located in the center of the face and affects the facial expression of the person the most. Facial analysis is performed before the operation process in order to ensure that the appearance of people who are considering having rhinoplasty is natural. Since rhinoplasty is a surgery that needs to be planned individually, facial analysis is one of the most important stages in order to determine the road map of what will be done during the surgery.

What is Facial Analysis?

As the concept of “ideal nose” has changed in recent years and naturalness has come to the fore, the importance of facial analysis has also increased. Facial analysis; It is a measurement performed to determine the shape of the nose that will suit the person the most, look the most natural on the face and will most harmonize with the facial features of the person.

Facial analysis does not only consist of measuring the angle of the organs on the face to each other. In this process, dynamics such as the patient's gender, age, height, lifestyle, profession, skin structure, facial type and expectations are also taken into account.

Thus, the planning of the rhinoplasty operation is completed in line with the data obtained as a result of facial analysis, taking into account the patient's wishes. The information obtained during facial analysis and doctor-patient interviews has the quality of directly affecting the aesthetic success of rhinoplasty.

Measurements Made within the Scope of Facial Analysis

Facial analysis is performed in order to make the nose look natural and symmetrical with facial features when viewed from both the front of the face and the profile. Lip structure, the shape of the cheeks, the angle between the lips and nose, the width of the forehead, the shape of the eyes, the position and structure of the cheekbones, and the shape of the eyebrows are examined within the scope of facial analysis.

At the same time;

  • The angle between the nose and forehead (nasofrontal angle),
  • The angle between the nose and the chin,
  • The angle between the chin and neck,
  • The ratio between the size of the ear and nose is also examined to ensure that the new nose to be created after the operation is also suitable for the profile appearance of the person.

Another data taken into consideration within the scope of facial analysis is the skin structure of the patients. The skin structure, which affects the post-operative healing process and the surgical techniques to be applied during the operation; It also stands out as an important data when determining the new shape of the nose.

Importance of Face Analysis

Although there is a nose shape that adorns the dreams of people who want to have rhinoplasty, facial analysis results are needed to achieve a natural appearance. A small nose will not suit people with a long and wide facial structure, and a hard-lined nose will not suit those with a small face.

The fact that the nose alone is beautiful after the operation should not be perceived as a success criterion; how it is in harmony with the neighboring organs on the face should be evaluated.

After the facial analysis applied to all patients who will have rhinoplasty, the shape of the nose that will suit the person best is determined in general terms. With this process, a road map is drawn for the specialists who will perform the operation. After the facial analysis is completed, the new nose designed is shown to the patients, reducing the question marks of the patients and increasing the comfort of the patient before the operation.
